There is a vast difference between treating effects and adjusting the cause. Using the Osteopathic model we want to get to the root of your pain or dysfunction and not suppress the symptoms. Again and again, we meet people who are tired of getting the same chest infection 5 times a year, whose sinuses are no longer responding to antibiotics or whose back pain is not going to go away no matter how many anti-inflammatories they take. We use the Osteopathic approach to restore health to all the systems of the body rather than treating the symptoms of disease.
There may be a number of contributing factors to the symptoms and we will therefore evaluate not only the area that is painful but also associated areas that may be contributing to the issue.
